KalPa Hockey

KalPa is a traditional hockey team from Kuopio. After many difficult years KalPa is finally one of the top teams in Finnish National Hockey League.

New hockey season looks good and promising. The team has got some new players, but the foundation has remained the same. Now the team is coached by trio of new coaches, head coach being Tuomas Tuokkola. Tuokkola is familiar with KalPa’s strong and distinctive style to play and the players since he has worked earlier as an assistant coach in KalPa. The brightest stars in the team are players like Jukka Hentunen, Matti Kuparinen, Tommi Miettinen, Tuomas Kiiskinen and Sakari Salminen, not to mention our super goalie Ari Ahonen. The new season also brought back a very familiar player: the former KalPa captain and NHL star Sami Kapanen. And as the well-known and highly appreciated player Kapanen told to the media: we are stronger than ever and we are aiming to win the league within next two years.
